Simple worksheet to be used alongside dominoes. Differentiated, so can either draw the dominoes and add, or use them to recognise the number and write.
Number bonds to 10 ppt using the visual method of a rainbow (without indigo) to show the pairs of number that make 10.
Also shows how 10 can be split into its' component numbers to help introduce subtraction from 10.
Cards contain either squares, circles, triangles, crosses or stars and also a numeral 1-13. The dealer deals 6 cards to each player, putting the rest in the centre and turning the first card over. The aim of the game is to lose all your cards by following the suit or the same numeral. If you do not have either, you have to pick up a card from the centre pile. Joker 'WHOT&' cards are placed down so you change to a new suit. When a player has no cards left, the game ends and scores are added up. The score of any left over star cards are doubled; a WHOT card left over will score 20.
3 different categories: best in show, agility (obstacle course/tricks) and obedience. Certificates made for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so can bring in ordinal numbers.
I will also be uploading a generic participation certificate, so everyone gets something for joining in!
Simple 4x4 grids with columns labelled A to D and rows labelled 1 to 4.
Images of superheroes, 2D shapes, dinosaurs and Mickey Mouse characters to find the grid co-ordinates for.
Children to remember to write the x-axis first and then the y-axis.
The first two grids are very simple with 4 image co-ordinates to record, the next two have either 6 or 9 co-ordinates to record.
Designed to be printed on A4 or A3 and laminated. Inspired by Singapore Maths part-part-whole idea to teach addition and subtraction number bonds. Could also use for multiplication and division.
PowerPoint to visually help children to use a 100 square to partition a 2-digit number into tens and units to add on. Plenary included for solving a word problem using the RUCSAC method.
A PowerPoint designed to show partitioning of a 2-digit number for subtraction.
Initially subtracting 10 on a hundred square, then subtracting 20, and then tens and units.
Pet cards and skin texture boards. Children to sort the cards onto the correct board, depending on which skin type they have. Can provoke discussion around why animals have certain skins (temperature regulation, protection, sensory needs). Could also introduce camouflage.
